Hello World !

Thank you for stopping by Astilbe and to say hello, Let me introduce myself...

My name is Katelyn Collie I am the Owner & Director of Astilbe Floral Boutique,

I am a mother, a wifey, & a tea lover.
Our family also consists of our loving pup Sir. Remington.

My love for floral design began at the age of 12 in my families floral studio in Schomberg Ontario. My grandfather was a man of wisdom, a noble teacher and unforgettable man I thank him everyday for the lessons and guidance he instilled in me. Which brings me to today and why I practise floral design.

He once told me " If at first you don't succeed try, try again...

Dance teacher, Radio Broadcaster and now once again digging deep into the roots of my past the love for wildflowers unfolds Astilbe. My love for design & horticulture happens everyday, while gardening In the rich earth of Horseshoe valley with my daughter creating one of a kind design.

This year our family at Astilbe has created a garden bed of wildflowers, featuring peonies, hydrangea , dahlias, and beyond! Stay tuned for the scoop on whats in season & be sure to enjoy one of our custom hand grown, hand picked bouquets.

Happiness held is the seed; Happiness shared is the flower.”

Dreaming of Spring...

It's a cold snowy friday night, and I just came in from the studio down our 56 stairs and counting.
The cold icy snow covers the studio steps while my spring planters with daffodils, crocus, peat moss and cheery blossoms stay cozy within the workshop.

" Spring do you hear my whispers  ? Why are you so afraid to blossom ? "

As my timid lilies and tulips reach towards the spring sun, buried beneath the snow kissed ground in hopes for the warmer weather to be near.

Waiting and waiting patiently...
